Tom advises clients on corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on financial services. He has particular expertise in the structuring, establishment and distribution of investment funds, including ETFs, wholesale funds and superannuation funds.
He has also advised on fund M&A transactions, governance, regulatory and compliance matters. Through this experience, Tom brings a commercial focus and an understanding of the challenges faced by fund managers and financial institutions. He is valued for providing practical, timely advice that combines technical precision with client objectives.
Before joining Hazelbrook Legal, Tom worked in-house as legal counsel at NZX, New Zealand’s stock exchange operator. In that role, he advised a leading fund manager on a wide range of corporate, funds and transactional matters.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Finance) from the University of Otago, New Zealand. Tom is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
